Celebrating Our Volunteers: A Royal Thank You

A Royal Thank You

Two months ago, three volunteers from the Cheshire Branch attended the MND Association’s Volunteer Thank You Afternoon Tea at Blenheim Palace, celebrating the incredible contribution volunteers make to people affected by MND.

HRH The Princess Royal, Royal Patron of the MND Association, was the guest of honour, thanking around 70 volunteers and guests from across England, Wales and Northern Ireland for their invaluable support.

Guests enjoyed a tour of Blenheim Palace, afternoon tea in the Orangery and received a special book of thanks recognising their contribution.

Thank You, Joel

Joel, our Branch Contact and Association Visitor, has volunteered with the Cheshire Branch for over 16 years. He was nominated by Grace, our Community Support Coordinator.

Joel always puts people affected by MND at the centre of everything he does. His calm and reassuring manner, kindness and lived experience as a carer make him a valued source of support for so many. Despite working full-time, Joel continues to make time to attend support meetings and branch events.

“Joel always treats people with dignity, kindness and compassion.”

Thank You, Sally

Sally, our Social Secretary, was also nominated by Grace, our Community Support Coordinator.

Sally is the driving force behind the Cheshire Branch’s social events and carers’ lunches, helping to ensure every gathering runs smoothly and provides a warm and welcoming environment.By listening to feedback and thoughtfully supporting those who attend, Sally creates meaningful opportunities for people living with and affected by MND to connect.

“Sally is always there, quietly ensuring that every interaction counts for people living with and affected by MND.”

Thank You, Richard

Richard, Chair of the Cheshire Branch, was also recognised following a nomination from Matt Cobble at the MND Association’s national office.

Richard’s dedication and leadership continue to make a lasting difference to the Cheshire Branch and everyone it supports.

Thank You to All Our Volunteers

Volunteers have been at the heart of the MND Association since it was founded in 1979, helping to ensure that people affected by MND receive the support they need.

Today, volunteers continue to play a vital role by:

  • Raising vital funds and awareness
  • Campaigning for change
  • Organising support groups and events
  • Providing trusted guidance and companionship

Thank you to Joel, Sally, Richard and every volunteer who gives their time and support to the MND community. Your contribution helps make sure no one faces MND alone.
